On February 15, 1973, Southern Adventist Health and Hospital Systems, Inc. It operates 53 hospitals in nine states that serve more than 6.7 million patients annually. On February 28, 2023, it was the fifteenth largest in the country. In 2021, it was the second largest hospital network in Florida. It is the largest not-for-profit Protestant health care provider. On January 2, 2019, Adventist Health System rebranded to AdventHealth.
